BattleShips is not a Public Domain or shareware program and is not free.
BattleShips is copyright (C) 1991,1992 by MultiWare (Australia).
Any 'key' file created by MultiWare (Australia) to register BattleShips
is also Copyright MultiWare (Australia).
Non-registered users of this program are granted a limited four week
license to BattleShips to evaluate the programs suitability for their
requirements. Any usage of BattleShips beyond evaluation time period
requires registration of the program.
Use of non-registered copies of BattleShips beyond the original evaluation
period is prohibited.
BattleShips may NOT be modified in any respect, for any reason, including
but not limited to, de-compiling, disassembling, or reverse engineering of
the program.
This also applies to the "KEY" file obtained upon registering Battleships.
The "KEY" file may NOT be distributed to anyone other than the registered
user.
The help text-files may be altered for use on the system of the registered
user if required but it is prefered they remain intact. They may not be
redistributed in an altered form.
It is expressly forbidden to alter a "key" file or to create a new
key file so as to permit full access to the BattleShips game.
You are free to distribute the PUBLICLY AVAILABLE demo version of
BattleShips to others subject to the above restrictions and also the
following:
A. No renumeration may be accepted for BattleShips. This does not
apply to computer access charges the system operators (Sysops)
of or organizations owning bulletin board systems, online
services, etc... that might charge subscribers.
B. BattleShips must be copied in unaltered form, complete with files
containing license information, the FULL documentation and
all accompanying files. Permission is granted to re-archive the
complete package with any acceptable and available archiver.
C. All distribution points must make explicitly clear that the
archive containing the BattleShips program has NOT registered
the shareware with MultiWare (Australia)
System Operators may make BattleShips available for download only if the
above conditions are met. The archive distributed by MultiWare (Australia)
or an equivilant archive may be made available only in complete form.
Distributors may not distribute BattleShips as part of any package which
gains them renumeration.
The above license statement does not apply to the REGISTERED version
of BattleShips. The registered software must not be distributed in any
form what-so-ever by anyone other than the authorized distributors.
The registered software is protected world wide and must be treated
as such with certain exceptions as follows:
A. MultiWare (Australia) authorizes the making of archival
copies of the registered software for the sole purpose of
backing-up your software and protecting your investment from
possible loss.
B. The medium on which the registered software is recorded (if any) is
transferred to the registered user, but not the title to the software.
C. The registered software may be used by any number of people having
permitted access to the BBS/online-service so long as there is
ABSOLUTELY NO POSSIBILITY of it being executed at one BBS while
being executed at another.
WARRANTY

BattleShips is provided AS IS without any warranty, expressed or implied.
This includes without limitation the fitfulness to a particular
purpose or application and any warranties of merchantability.
While we tried to be as thorough as possible while debugging BattleShips,
MultiWare (Australia) shall not be liable for any damages, whether
direct, indirect, special, or consequential arising from a failure of
this program or accompanying files to operate in a manner desired by the
user. MultiWare (Australia) shall not be liable for any damage to data or
property which may by caused directly or indirectly by use of this program.
In no event will MultiWare (Australia) be liable to you for any
damages, including any lost profits, lost savings or other incidental
or consequential damages arising out of your use or inability to use
the program, or for any claim by any other party.
If you have a problem with BattleShips please feel free to write or call
and describe the situation. Registered users, please include the serial
number and BBS/on-line service name.
MultiWare (Australia) reserve the right to terminate a user's registration
if it is determined that the software has been used or distributed illegally.
A final note. BattleShips may not be used in ANY form what-so-ever
on any computer system, bulletin board system or online service where
that system is being used for any of the following purposes.
A. The illegal distribution of ANY software. (e.g. Pirate BBS's)
B. Any type of service to any parties involved in wartime activities.
C. Any other type of ILLEGAL activity what-so-ever for that matter.
